Cauthorn Club records, 1893-1940 (bulk 1930-1940).

The Cauthorn Club Records include financial records documenting room and board paid by men residents of the original Cauthorn Hall for the periods 1893-1896 and 1908-1909 and a rollbook and scrapbook documenting the members and activities of the Cauthorn Club from the late 1920s until 1940. The scrapbook includes photographs and ephemera of club member and student body president, Robert W. (Bob) Henderson.

The original Cauthorn Hall (now Fairbanks Hall) was constructed in 1892 as the first men's dormitory at Oregon Agricultural College and served as the men's dormitory until 1912. It was named for Oregon Senator Thomas E. Cauthorn, who obtained the state funding for construction of the building. Bob Henderson's connection with OSU spanned more than 70 years from 1933, when he enrolled as a freshman from Hermiston, until his death in early 2006. During this time he served student body president in 1937-1938, earned a BS in agronomy in 1938, and served as a Farm Crops faculty member and Assistant Director of the Agricultural Experiment Station from 1946 until his retirement in 1976.
